Henry Lipkis is a globe trotting artist born in Venice Beach, California.
Since graduating from California College of the Arts, Lipkis has used mural painting to cross-pollinate imagery and ideas between cultures around the world from Transylvania to Detroit.
He draws influence from artists such as Aryz, Hayao Myazaki, and Ralph Steadman to create magical environments that crumble into abstraction in the peripheries while sharpening into focus where the story is being told.
Mainly working with latex and spray paint, Lipkis covers walls, massive and small alike, with his signature colors and swirls to start a dialogue within neighborhoods about new possibilities for the future.
