James B. Borders IV

James B. Borders IV, a celebrated journalist, was editor of the Black Collegian magazine and the New Orleans Tribune, and was managing director of the National Black Arts Festival. He is a graduate of Brown University where he also received his master’s degree and co-founded Rites & Reason Theater, considered to be the first black-oriented dramaturgical group in the Ivy League. He is also the author of Marking Time, Making Place: An Essential Chronology of Blacks in New Orleans Since 1718. He lives in New Orleans.
