Sue Mobley comes to Tulane from New Orleans' non-profit sector. She has served as Strategy and Communications Lead for the Organizing and Facilitation Committee of the Music and Culture Coalition New Orleans, where she now serves as President of the Board of Directors. Her prior work has included Executive Director at Sweet Home New Orleans and Community Coordinator for the New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity. In both roles Mobley built coalitions with individuals and organizations throughout New Orleans. She has served as a Community Advisory Board member for WWOZ fm and St. Claude Main Street.
Mobley holds a Bachelor of Arts from Loyola University New Orleans in Anthropology and a Masters of Arts in Political Science from the American University in Cairo. Her primary independent research interests are in political sociology with a focus on race, class, and gender. Mobley has provided research and data collection for issues of police response to domestic violence, low income housing, healthcare access for Latino migrant laborers, and policies affecting New Orleans cultural economy. She is the author of Human Rights, Human Wrongs, Observation of Human Rights Law and Norms in United Nations Peacekeeping Operations.
